A dental bridge is a device used to fill the space where a tooth has fallen out or been removed. At Phillips Ranch Dental, we make metal-free bridges that use a ceramic porcelain covering so there’s no dark grey line at the edge of the tooth, and no metal between the teeth.
Why a Bridge?
Missing teeth can cause chewing problems. If even one tooth is missing, other teeth may slowly shift out of place. This changes the way your teeth fit together.
In addition, a poor bite may make your jaw sore. Your teeth may become harder to clean which can lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
It is important to fill gaps between teeth and a bridge is one of the most affordable ways to accomplish that.
A typical bridge consists of a filler tooth that is attached to two surrounding crowns. Once complete, this bridge structure is bonded into the mouth.
