Getting a beautiful, natural smile with porcelain veneers

A straighter, whiter, fuller smile is possible without braces and usually in two visits with porcelain veneers.
A porcelain veneer is a thin sheet of porcelain that is bonded to the front of a tooth. They can be used to cover darkness or stains, correct a fractured or chipped tooth, fill in spaces between teeth, artificially straighten crooked teeth, and generally give the look of a perfect smile. The tooth or teeth in question are shaved down, slightly or extensively as needed, an impression taken, and the veneers placed at a second appointment.
Porcelain veneers have many advantages in smile restorations. They have a lifelike appearance and durability that only porcelain restorations can offer. They will not discolor or wear like natural tooth enamel. Veneers look natural and aesthetically pleasing. They are both stain resistant and soft on gums. In some cases, veneers can serve a restorative purpose and can protect a damaged tooth from further harm. With today’s technology, porcelain veneers can last up to 20 years.
Dr. Glassman custom designs your veneers from very high-quality porcelain to be both natural-looking and durable.
Find out if "No Prep" Veneers will work for you
A whole new generation of materials and techniques has now been developed to make beautiful looking veneers with NO “prepping” or grinding away of tooth structure. The porcelain is ultra thin, and manufactured to be super strong even at the thinnest. New bonding materials also are included that give the finished veneer its strength and looks.
Sometimes, some tooth material does have to be ground away even with this technique, for example if one tooth is sticking out very far or particularly crooked. Even in these cases however, the amount is a lot less than with traditional veneers.
Dr. Glassman has used both regular and no-prep veneers to correct smile flaws on everything from a single tooth to an entire smile. Come in today for your consultation, and find out which type of veneers are right for you.

Bonding vs. Veneers vs. Porcelain Crowns vs. Braces vs. Whitening
By Howard Glassman, D.D.S.
Cosmetic dentistry is the big buzz word in dentistry today and has been for a number of years. Making your smile look beautiful is the motivating factor for many dental patients. There are quite a few different methods and techniques used to achieve this end, but they fall into a few main categories.
Although there is a lot of overlap, usually these techniques each have a specific purpose that is used in specific circumstances. Often more than one treatment is used to achieve the ideal result. Let's look at each of these techniques and see what they can accomplish...
